The Pharmacy Council has the following functions:
- to ensure the maintenance of high standards in the practice of pharmacy, in the interest of public health and safety;
- to foster ethical behaviour among pharmacists in order to uphold the dignity and honour of the profession;
- to manage and control the registration of pharmacists, pharmacies and authorised sellers of poisons;
- to discipline pharmacists and authorised sellers of poisons pursuant of this Act;
- to advise the Minister on —
- matters relating to the inspection of premises by Pharmacy Inspectors;
- the management and control of the pharmaceutical industry in general, including importation of drugs and poisons and their wholesale to private pharmacies;
